It's a couple days before Rosh Hashana, and I'm looking back at my year. What have I accomplished? What opportunities have I grasped, while others I let slip through my fingers? What kind of person am I now, as compared to what kind of person I was at this time last year? Am I happier, less happy...and how do you measure those things, anyway? How has my avodat Hashem improved? Has it, in fact, improved at all? How do my actions bein adam l'chavero compare to last year's? Am I proud of the person I've become over the course of the past year?
Am I prepared to stand before the King of Kings, begging for my life? Do I have anything to show for myself?
Best wishes to all for a ketivah v'chatimah tovah--may we all be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life.
